*laugh* I am not alone (on the shaving thing). I think of it as insulation for the legs too. Of course, I do end up shaving the bikini line.. cause once that gets shaved, it has to remain so cause the hair that grows back in itches like crazee. ;p
I echo velvetg about the other reason to skip showeirng. Takes too long when I could be doing more worthwhile things on my weekend. Like sleeping. I will shower on weekends if I am going somewhere, or if I get all sweaty and stuff working in the garden. I do wish I could skip a day during the work week, but my hair and BO gets kind of stinky after 24 hours. Downside to eating a lot of onions and garlic, I guess. :p
I absolutely agree with you on both the leg shaving and the showers. My legs aren't what I consider shorts-safe, so I tend to wear trousers or, if I have to wear a skirt (which I do for work), I wear tights. So, being that my legs are pretty much covered 100% of the time, I hardly ever shave them. They actually don't get very hairy, anyway. If I knew someone else was going to see them I certainly would shave, so I guess I'm culturally influenced too.
And showers? Our bathroom gets cold, so in winter, stepping out of a warm shower into a cold room, wearing nothing, seems unappealing somehow. Also, I hate trying to put clothes onto towel-dried, clammy skin. It's awkward and time-consuming. And as the others said, the time factor becomes an issue when there are other, more fun, things to do.
I don't shave either, excepting the underarms. But showers I do daily. Twice, sometimes, mostly at night, so I don't have to deal with that drying-the-hair bs.
Of course, my showers average under three minutes, so...
8 weeks or so when it is warm enough to wear shorts
Where I am, its warm enough to be naked three quarters of the year. Take that!
