[Ixia Irisborne fronting] Heheh. Yeah, being a bunch of gamers, we call that New Supplement Syndrome. It happens to us all the time. We'd discover some new corner of the Saint Louis Area, and then for the next couple of months, half of the new things in our life would revolve around that area. As if the gods got a new gaming supplement and were enjoying tapping into it at every opportunity.
On a side note, it's good to see a new post from you. I've been wondering where you got to. Post again soon! :D
I don't know which book by Adler you are referring to but all Dr. Adler's books can be read with profit. For someone about to enter college I strongly recommend his "How to Read a Book." I discovered that book 17 years ago and having read it many times, it has dramatically changed how I read, what I read, and why I read. I used to read to be entertained and now I read to learn, Using the skills I learned from Dr. Adler I now get an order of magnitude more out of books than I did before. I give the book to every relative when they graduate from high school. Best of luck at U of C and I hope that it will be just the beginning of a life of learning.

I read How to Speak/How to Listen. I have How to Read a Book on my shelf waiting for me to finish one of the several books I'm immersed in at the moment. And your sentiment is one that I've echoed ever since I started reading How to Speak/How to Listen.

Hey, Nigirimeshi (and any other kin or kin-friendly people that may read her journal) We're going to be having a little gather in St. Charles on the 16th at It's a Grind (coffee shop). It's at:

Come if you can and want to. ;D
We'll also be having a more formal one in the spring, but details haven't been hammered out yet.
