Conjugating the first person singular, if you know what I'm sayin'

I have a masturbation problem.

Specifically, I can't bring myself to accept "masturbate" as a transitive verb.

Refresher: A transitive verb takes an object. An intrasitive verb takes no object. (More technically, a transitive verb has two arguments, while an intransitive verb has one.)

intransitive: "I masturbated this morning."

Perhaps you just prefer masturbating other people more than you do yourself.

How else would you say the second?

There's the rub, so to speak.

I've heard it said "masturbated over _____", which, sure, can be confused with physical location instead of mental state, but if you're masturbating it's probably the latter, right?

Man I agree about this inelegant transitive verb business! You know how I feel about the use of "to grow" as a transitive verb, too.

"Grow your penis and masturbate Antonio Banderas!"

I'm pretty sure we're not talking about masturbating yourself while thinking about another person; we're talking about actually stimulating the other person with your hand.

Masturbating Antonio Banderas does sound inelegant, you're correct.

I hate, with a passion, using 'to grow' as a transitive verb.

I would rather grow balls than 'grow my business'. (And it's just about as likely...)
