I fear having to explain to my daughter why grandma thinks the devil is in me. I have told my mother to spread the word that if I ever hear of anyone in the family making any mention of my lack of religion, they will not be a part of my zoe's life. You can't protect her from other people's words.

You are the one she knows and trusts best, and so if she knows you think their opinions are looney, but you love them anyway, she's a lot more likely to take other people's opinions with a grain of salt.

And she'll learn that its ok and safe to have her own opinions and she'll be comfortable sharing them with you. I think unconditional love is the most important thing.

Hrmm, well, *i've* always thought you were evil incarnate. (umm just kidding) :) Morality is more something that you exhibit in your actions than something you just passively posess, and you are a good person, so pass that quality along and who cares what your weird family thinks. At least they all live hundreds of miles away.
