Huzzah for finishing exams! ^-^ I'm dim, though, so I'm little confused as to what this means for your studies. Are you switching courses entirely, taking two majors or?..
You should come to Utrecht then. ^-^ They teach Irish there. Or Ireland of course which would be better. What're the languages taught at your university? *curious* I think the most exotic language mine has is Indonesian, though it's the centre of the odd-ducks in language courses. Like Japanese and Tamil and Indonesian... *pause* At least I think we have Indonesian as well.
Heheh, no you're not! Unis are very confusing with the whole course selection, and are weird. Right now, I'm majoring in Math, and I think I'm sticking with it. We do have to take 30 credits in addition to the 54 required in the Math program. You can take whatever you like to fill up these 30 credits, and I think I'll be taking Linguistics!
My uni is terribly boring - they teach French (well, this is Quebec), Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin?), German, and if you're in Jewish Studies, those weird 'dead' languages (including Aramaic?), I don't know what they're called. We also do have a small 'Classics' Program, where they teach you Latin and Greek (both Modern and Ancient). Your uni sounds quite awesome - Indonesian and Tamil AND Irish? Wow.
That doesn't sound too confusing, unless they go 'here have a wide selection of courses to choose from and none of them obligatory' or the like. They're terribly annoying with throwing courses at it at the same time you want to take other courses, though. *pause* Well, mine does that.
's not too bad, then. Sure, they could be teaching more, but they could also be teaching none of them. No English, though? Eeeh, Irish is a different university, though you can take a minor in it that's only a half-official course and taight free-lance. But there're so many different languages to choose from if you want...
There's Dutch*, English*, Korean, Chinese*, Japanese*, Indonesian, Spanish, Italian, French*, German*, Swahili, Modern Standard Arabic, Latin, Greek*, Middle-Egyptian, Hebrew (Biblical and Modern), Syrian, Hindi, Sanskrit, they seem to have cancelled Indian-American languages, O_O Babylonian (yes, I'm giving you the list from the website. I'd give you the link to look at all the BA course lists yourself, but it's all in Dutch and
