Making the now very-familiar drive over to Shuichi and Yuki's apartment, Hiro timed himself to see how fast he could get there. Sure, it was a little dangerous, but he was careful most of the time.
Shuichi bounced around the living room, waiting for Hiro to show. He had two very interesting stories for the guitarist. When he heard the familiar purr of the bike, he jumped up, scribbled a note to Yuki, grabbed his keys, and ran out, making sure to lock the door behind him. He waved frantically when he saw his best friend.
Hiro waited before he parked his bike before waving back, taking off his helmet. "Hey," he said, grinning. "How goes it?"
"HI HIRO!" Shuichi shouted excitedly, running over to the redhead. He tackled him, and nuzzled his chest. "It goes good! But I'm starving! Let's go!"
The redhead had to chuckle at his best friend's antics. "Okay, okay," he said affectionately, stroking at Shuichi's hair. "I know how determined you can be when you want something. So, hop on and we'll go get some ramen."
Doing just that, Shuichi squeezed Hiro tightly. He liked riding on Hiro's bike, it was fun! Especially at night, because there wasnt anyone around. "Go faster!!" He demanded, poking Hiro in the side, once they started going.
"Okay, but if I get a speeding ticket, you're paying for it." Hiro picked up the pace considerably and literally raced through the streets, grinning as his adrenaline began pumping through his veins. Ahhh, this rush is why he decided to get a bike in the first place.
Shuichi clung tighter to Hiro, squealing at the rush he was getting. This was awesome, especially now that it was getting warm again. "wheeeee!"
Hiro had to agree with those sentiments. He deliberately took the longer way to the ramen stand, just enjoying the feeling of the warm wind blowing through his hair. After a while, though, he sensed that Shuichi was getting really hungry and eventually pulled up next to the ramen cart, their standard eating place late at night.
Hopping off the bike, Shuichi scampered up to the cart. "Hmm.. Let's see... I'll have chicken ramen." He told the guy working the cart. A few minutes later, he was holding a cup of ramen. Handing the guy some bills, he stepped out of the way so Hiro could order as well.
I'll have some chicken ramen as well, please," the redhead said, holding out some bills to the worker. Once he had gotten his ramen as well, he and Shuichi moved over to the curb and sat down. "Itadakimasu!" Hiro said, breaking his chopsticks.
By that time, Shuichi had already broke apart his chopsticks and was already scarfing down his noodles. Everything tasted so much better when you were hungry, that was for sure.
The guitarist had to laugh as Shuichi ate like a madman. "Well, I didn't know you were that hungry," he commented as he began slurping down his own noodles. He was only halfway finished by the time Shuichi had scarfed down all of his noodles.
"I told you I was really hungry!" He smiled and patted his belly, satisfied at last. "Oh yeah! My stories!" He stood up, getting into storyteller mode. "Okay, the first one is... I got Yuki to play Karaoke Revolution!"
That last line caused Hiro to choke on his noodles. Once he had recovered (after drinking some water the singer had got from the ramen guy), he was finally able to speak. "You did what?!"
The pink haired musician crossed his arms and laughed voctoriously. "Hai! He played Karaoke Revolution with me. It was so cute~!" And just seeing with a microphone in his hand was pretty amusing.
The redhead rolled his eyes. "I'm sure it was," he agreed dryly. "And, so? Can our author friend sing, on top of all of the other stuff he can do?" Hiro let a little bit of sarcasm come into his voice, but not enough to really be noticeable.
"He's not bad!" Shuichi grinned, totally not catching any of the sarcasm at all. Sure, Yuki was no Sakuma Ryuichi... But then again, who was? "He did alright. But I totally won."
"Of course you did. I wouldn't have expected anything less from the lead singer of Bad Luck." Hiro had to chuckle at the exuberance Shuichi always showed. "I would have been surprised if you had lost."
"I would have been so mad if I had lost! Can you imagine what an ego that would give Yuki?!" He asked, sitting back down. He could see it now: 'You lost at your own talent?'
Sheesh. That's a scary thought.
The redhead had to nod in agreement. "Hai, hai. It's just like how I had to wail on you at 'Guitar Hero.' I couldn't have you playing the guitar better than me, even if it's just a game."
"Exactly! It would be like me winning against Yuki at a writing game, or me winning against Tatsuha at a sex game! Or or or..." And Shuichi trailed off, as he always tended to do. "But anyway.."
Hiro laughed. "I think stopping that train of thought would be a good idea." He quickly finished his noodles and threw their cups and chopsticks away. Once he had rejoined the singer on the curb, he reached for a cigarette and lighter in his pocket. "So, what's your other story?" he asked as he lit up.
Shuichi stared at Hiro blankly for a few seconds before remembering his other story. "Oh yeah. I went over to Sakuma-san's house!"
After exhaling a puff of smoke, the guitarist smiled. "You did? How was that?"
"It was fun! He has a really nice place. But he watches some weeeeird shows" Shuichi confided in his best friend. Then again, Ryuichi wasn't exactly what most people would consider normal...
"You know, that doesn't surprise me one bit." The redhead quickly finished his cigarette and leaned back on his elbows, giving Shuichi a quizzical look. "So, what's the plan now?"
"Hmm..." Shuichi thought as he tapped his chin thoughtfully. "We could go back to your place and play Guitar Hero!!!"
Hiro nodded in agreement. "Still trying to beat me, huh?" he joked, ruffling Shuichi's hair affectionately. "Well, let's go have another marathon. Hopefully K-san won't get too mad if we end up ditching work."
"He'll never know! Espcially if we build robots that look like us to show up for us!" Okay, that was going a bit far, but Shuichi didn't care. He laughed rather annoyingly, and stood up.
Standing up as well, the redhead had to roll his eyes as his best friend continued to laugh obnoxiously. Luckily he had learned how to tune it out through the years, so it never really bothered him that much anymore. "Well, let's mosey, then."
"Okay!" Waving to the ramen guy, Shuichi jumped on to Hiro's bike, waiting for the redhead to get on as well. "Let's go!!! Hurry hurry hurry!!!!"
Once again speeding a little more than he should have (especially since he had a passenger to worry about), Hiro made it back to his place in what seemed like no time at all. Once he had stopped his bike, he held it steady so the singer could hop off first.
The singer hopped/rolled off the bike and ran up to Hiro's door, waiting for him to open in so he could fly inside and roll around on the futon. It was becoming a pasttime.
Hiro scratched at one ear as he watched Shuichi bounce around his apartment. "Sheesh, you never run out of energy, do you?" He joined his best friend on the futon, cracking his back absent-mindedly.
"Almost never!" He snuggled against Hiro for a few minutes, beofre turning his attention to the game a little ways away. He tugged on Hiro's hand. "Come on, let's play!"
All right, all right." Hiro laughed good-naturedly as he got up and quickly turned on the game. Grabbing the fake guitar, he held it out to the singer. "You want to go first this time?" he asked as the intro started playing.
Shuichi nodded and skimmed through all the menus until he finally go to the song selection screen. Picking his favorite song, Shuichi played through it, missing a few notes here and there. Handing the guitar to Hiro after he finished and sat down.
Hiro went through the same procedure, picking "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand, a new favorite of his. Playing through it, he ended up with a perfect score (naturally!).
"Show off!" Shuichi pouted. So he was a sore loser. As long as he could admit it... right? Grabbing the guitar back, Shuichi picked another song; one he'd never heard before, and started playing it. And he did awful.
The other man had to laugh. "You suck," he said good-naturedly. Picking the same song, one he'd also never done before, he played through it with only two misses. Once his turn was over, he handed the guitar back to Shuichi, winking at him as he did so. "I may be a show-off, but you know you love it."
Shuichi seemed to become an even bigger sore loser everytime he played games like this. He grunted and grabbed the guitar again, this timechoosing a song he liked. He did better than time and applauded himself. "Woohoo!"
Hiro also clapped for him, nodding in approval. "It's good to see that you're getting better," he teased gently. They continued to play for a few more hours, but by the time Hiro had finished his last turn, he noticed that Shuichi was dragging.
Shuichi reached for the guitar. "Just.. one more!" He said, scrolling through the songs, and langing on a random one. As the song went on, Shuichi found that his fingers couldn't keep up with the screen, and eventually, he was booed offstage.
The redhead looked at his watch. 3 a.m... he couldn't believe that they had been playing for so long. "Okay, Shu, I think it's home time," he said gently.
Shuichi curled up on the floor, nuzzling a sock. "No, I'm staying here." He didn't want to get up, unless it was to get into bed.
Hiro had to laugh a little. "Okay, okay, just quit nuzzling my sock like that. It's a little creepy." He scooped the younger man up and carried him over to the futon.
Yay! He was carried without even asking!!! Dropping the sock on the floor, he nuzzled Hiro instead. "Sleepy sleepy..." He said, yawning.
"I know you are," Hiro said contentedly as he let Shuichi nuzzle at him. Catching a yawn from his best friend, he realized how tired he was, himself. "I think it's bedtime, don't you?"
Tucking the covers back around Shuichi and himself, Hiro let himself relax. Closing his eyes, he instinctively wrapped his arms around his best friend and brought him closer, almost protectively. Without another thought, the redhead gave himself up to the darkness of sleep.
