Thank you for writing this. I think you've hit upon the issue that the modern world is tettering upon.

It would make me cry, except that I understand that my personal mission is to raise my three kids in such a way that they can be lights in this world. So I have to be strong.

It wasn't meant to make you cry. And the work you do raising three kids that have clear vision of the world we live in is indeed the best work there is. It will take a great deal of strength to do that, especially where you live. Safe journeys!

I really enjoyed this, I think it's bang on in regards to the way that most of us live our lives today, what our priorites are and what they really should be. It seems to me that a lot of people are really lost, stuck in our post-modernist detached and disconnected society and unsure of what to think and what to believe in. I'm probably a hypocrite for saying this, but I really do think we need to return to the fire, if you know what I mean.

Although that happened quite awhile ago, I felt it was worth posting here. It was mesmerizing to hear that old man talk that day. In my particular case, part of my personal medicine lets me sometimes actually see into a dream or vision as it is told to me. It was easy with his and the reality of it stayed with me for weeks.
Sometimes when faced with old knowledge like that, I too find myself being very hypocritical. It has always been difficult trying to walk in two worlds. It still is. We do the best we can. The most painful part is seeing others suffer because they can only see the world on a surface level.
