Domain and grief

Aug 21, 2005 20:22

Well this sucks....it seems there is a problem with my domain email. So I have to continue to work that out with my current domain host. My biggest issue is the new guy running it doesn't know what he is doing. And what happened to the old guy you ask? Remember when I posted the articles about the friend/brother that shot himself a few weeks ago? ( Read more... )

Sorry...I don't happen to relish killing things. But when you and most of the people around you happen to be poor and you want to eat meat, it is pretty much the only way. Unless you want to tolerate canned commodity chicken (I would not suggest it ( ... )

ahahahaa...ya hunting is a touchy subject for me...wait..are you up north in Canada? okay if thats the case and its your way of living and all the animal is used...than i can somehow justify it...but trophy hunting is so very very wrong.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend...it is a great loss when one is so sad they feel they need to take their own life...*sighs*

We are almost into Canada. We live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.Canada is right across the St. Mary's river from us. We even end all our sentences with "Hey" (but we still make fun of Canadians for it). And we are somewhat plagued by trophy hunters. I find most of them dangerous, obnoxious to people who actually live here (Most of them come from downstate. We call them Trolls, because they live under the Mackinaw Bridge) and generally a pain in the ass to deal with in the woods. They can't go to the woods without a a big ass gun, too much ammo, way too much alcohol, an ATV that they don't really know how to ride and a big shiny noisy bad ass truck to haul it all with. They also bring with them 5 or 6 buddies who also can't shoot and who compensate for that by banging away at anything that moves. They usually go home empty handed and sometimes also having had their asses kicked by the local boys ( ... )

I saw this advertising for web service at the megatokyo comic strip site. I don't know if it's any good, but if $4/month is a good price for 150 MB, then here's the link ( ... )

Thanks for the info, I will check it out. I do need to host somewhere that language is not a problem though. I want freedom to say whatever on my site.

As for the hunting, I believe anybody who wants to eat meat should be part of the process at least once or twice. Then they will understand what is actually taking place when they eat a steak, a slab of fish or nice roast chicken. Killing is not something I am ever going to be complacent about. And it shouldn't be. But it is going to happen.

As for missing your Dad, I understand that. I will miss both of my parents very much for the rest of my life. Certain things suddenly pop up that makes me think of them. Every time I have a gun in my hands I think of my father. Hell some of them are his. So thanks for the feelings in the reply as well.

Peace!

Hey I saw you post in some journal and I'm far too tired tonight, I've already forgotten what community, but I saw this post and figured I'd boast ace-host.net
http://ace-host.net/specialplan.html
details on the cheapest plan (ignore the *it's gonna end tonight* it never ends)
I've had them, this is my second year hosting my site with them and they're beyond amazing. They've never crashed, unlimited subdomains, unlimited email accounts, tons of storage, all the up-to-date necessities, MySQL, PHP, PHP-nuke pre-installed, tons of stuff easily available.
The only thing I wish they had that they don't is more of is FTP accounts, you can only have one username/password for ftp accounts.
Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for the help. I am going with Westhost for now. I am in the process of transferring everything and should have my domains back up and running soon.
