Velvet Underworld:
The ending was a bit confusing and has left me with many questions but also expectations what could happen next.
But... Takehito Koyasu-san just can't let go of "Aya", does he, though he has denied that this story has anything to do with Weiss Kreuz. However, his "Aya" of Weiss Kreuz is already a legend in Velvet Underworld....LOL. Takehito-san again.
I have to admit that though the storyline of all his works are kinda culty-trashy, when I heard that he's coming up with a new project, it was immediately on my must-check-out-list. After all, Weiss Kreuz was my first Anime, I've watched in original dub and I was aware of it's japanese origin... i guess, I also connect some nostalgic feeling to it.
And the cast of Velvet Underworld is great (Hiiro Yuki, Miyano Mamoru, Tomokazu Seki), with Suzu as the dot on the i (I love his voice acting in that Drama CD, he sounds so different). xD
Spoiler: (It was somehow predictable, that Kuro has more to do with all those events, than it seems to be at first. But what does he mean, that he's the lover of Tomoe aka Aya? *senses some yaoi*xD)
There are so many other questions and plotholes, the whole thing doesn't add up. But well, that also leaves a lot of things to fill up in the next installments. One can be excited. ^-^
Hopefully Takehito-san doesn't mess up and gives us some reasonable explanations.
Hero Academy J:
I don't know why it took me sooo long to finally get around listening to it. THIS DRAMA CD IS SOOOO HILARIOUS!!! xDDD
I laughed so much that even tears came out. xD I've listened to the relating Radio Show that Suzu has hosted, but that was before I got that Drama CD.
The interaction of the cast is funny, I especially loved HiroC's and Yusa Kouji's voice acting. HiroC's timid, shy voice is sooo uke-like! xD
He sounded a lot like Shinnosuke Tachibana, I have to say. Yusa Kouji's Shin is the most funniest and craziest character, I bursted in laugh everytime when he jumped in danger just to taste "pain"!
It was obvious that the attack by the "Tengu"-villain was a test. But how they overcame this "threat" shows each of their special (though questionable) "skill".
Yokan (Yaoi, means Boy x Boy!):
I've read the manga some years ago, it was one of the earliest works of YELLOW-Mangaka Makoto Tateno. I haven't read YELLOW though, but I like CUTExGUY. Since Suzu has a part in the Drama CD, I thought I'd give a try.
I'm quite fond of Suzu being paired up with Morikawa Toshiyuki, I think their voices and interactions together are compatible.
Once again, I'm very impressed by the voice acting of Seiyuu. This is especially evident when listening to Drama CD's. You have to depend on your imagination, but the most important thing is, how the voice acting is carried out.
There was a particular H-scene in the Manga, that was even more intensive in the Drama CD than in the original.
Spoiler: (When Suzu's character Akira was raped by Morikawa's Sunaga, his painful screams sounded so real! And Morikawa-san's cold voice has even made me shiver. Honestly, that scene in the drama cd felt more frightening than the sketched version in the Manga...*shivers*)
The plot isn't much to say about. How can Akira fell in love with that guy, who has done terrible things to him? Maybe it's exactly because of that? Attraction of danger? Dunno. Well, Love has many faces. And this kind of relationship often appears in BLCDs...
Also, it's kinda a bit exaggerated that the public would make such a fuss about Sunaga's past (he was the vocalist of a band). It was after all just an indie-band.
As I've said b4, one cannot expect much of depth or original storyline when it comes to BLCD. There are some good ones, but you really have to look for it. BLCD is, after all, mainly for fangirlism of (either) both, Seiyuu and Boys' Love, and I'm not an exception. xD
Well, anyway, the Drama CD wasn't bad, it was decent.
I've always loved Suzu's calm, a bit deadpan voice style.*-*
Suzu mentioned in the freetalk, that he'd like to play a character like Kouichi, who is a brother of one of Akira's band members and has drugged himself and died of overdose. I'd love to hear him playing such a character too. It would be a challenging, interesting role. *hopes for such an opportunity*
