And finally, the recap of my 3.5 day trip to Paris!! <3
I included a few pics, but my mobile phone camera kinda sucks when it's dark so they're not really good^^".
If I knew they won't take away cameras I would've brought my other one.. (and my hd camcorder xD)
Well then^^.. as I said in my post last week, our flight was cancelled on really short notice and therefore we decided to take the car on a 8h drive over to Paris.
Since I was really antsy because I did not want to risk arriving too late, we already left at around 7AM on Friday. The drive itself was quite long, but we had luck traffic-wise and thank god there weren't any holdups ^_^
After arriving at our Hotel at ~3PM we still had a few hours to spare, so we took the metro to Bercy Stadium where Roger Waters had his 'The Wall' concert later that evening and we saw people already starting to line up there^^.
Time went by quite fast so we took off to Le Zenith. Arriving there around 6:30PM, we could already see the seemingly unending row of people lining up for the second stop of X Japan's first European tour!! ^__^
As I already said, the
queue was already freakin' long when we arrived and after waiting for like 30min or so it slowly started moving. From time to time I looked back to see how many people arrived after us and the end of the line didn't seem to be progressing at all, meaning there were more people still arriving compared to how many are already getting inside the concert hall xD
When we finally arrived at the entrance (~7:30PM), I saw something surprising: Seems like
Cassiopeia did a good job a few weeks ago at the SMTOWN Con xD
(I'll mention here that I was really pissed at those people who thought they're better than others and were cutting the line instead of lining up like everyone... -.- If you want to get in sooner, don't come at the last minute, gosh -.-)
After we finally got in (~
7:45PM), it was kinda surprising to see that we actually weren't as late to get in as we originally thought^^ I think in the end there were more people in the line behind us than in front of us^^. We also had standing tickets so we were quite close to the stage (~7m between me & stage).
It took quite some time until everyone got in and then they still had us waiting some time.. Finally, the lights went out and we could hear the Intro of the concert where after a few minutes
Yoshiki appeared standing on his drum seat (8:50PM). Eveything seemed like a dream at that moment and I teared up a bit, since I was dreaming for that moment to come true since they announced the Reunion back in 2007 <3.
Near the end of the intro the other members of X Japan, Heath, Pata, Toshi and Sugizo joined Yoshiki on stage and began the first song 'Jade' (I found a
video of that, in quite good quality =)). The next one was 'Rusty Nail', I don't know why, but they decided to do the English version, which was a bit sad, since I don't know the English lyrics, only the Japanese ones^^". After that came 'Silent Jealousy' and 'Drain', and as always, Yoshiki and Sugizo left the stage for the latter.
The next stage was Sugizo's Violin Solo which was awesome!! I really like him playing the Violin =).
After some minutes, while Sugizo was still playing, Yoshiki came up to the piano and because Sugizo didn't notice him (he had his back to him), Yoshiki played some notes on the piano. Cute Yoshiki&Sugizo moment ;p (
Sugizo Violin & Yoshiki Piano - Yoshiki comes @4:05; not my vid^^) Following that were the first notes of '
紅 Kurenai'. Soo beautiful *.*
Then, they played 'Born to be Free' and Yoshiki had his Drum/Piano Solo^^. Next was '
I.V.', 'X' and as encore 'Endless Rain', Sugizo had another small Violin solo and then Yoshiki appeared for the last song 'Art of Life'.
Before starting with 'Endless Rain', Yoshiki talked for some time (see
this vid. There's also a cute Yoshiki/Toshi moment @3:10).
The concert ended with 'Forever Love' playing in the background and the members enjoying the atmosphere in the concert hall and making photos/videos of everything <3.
{C}
The concert ended around 11PM and we went back to the hotel with ringing ears^^
Since my ears already are quite sensitive, I had a little bit of trouble with the sheer volume of the concert.. no kidding, when Yoshiki started with his drums my shirt -moved- because of the acoustic pressure xD. I had to use earplugs for half of the concert since my ears were starting to hurt.. I took them out at the quieter parts of the songs though (like during the intro of 'Art of Life'). They haven't really recovered yet either ^^".
All in all, it was absolutely amazing and I will definitely go again next time they come to Europe *.* <3
love 'ya
