You saw Love & Rockets?! I'm seething with envy. Meanwhile, is there just the slightest chance that Squeeze CD has the letter G inside the cover? Hmmmmmm? Guh.

Glad to hear you survived Middle America. Although, at least it seemed to have better cell reception than Northern America....

Oh, I wish I'd managed to see Oingo Boingo live! Regrettably, I only discovered them in about 1994, not very soon before they decided to disband.. still, I could always try going to see the Residents someday. (Their Icky Flix DVD is the only example of their work I have, and it does appear to be quite a testament to their style ( ... )

Boingo had some great brass they'd bring on stage at times (think "Little Girls"). Classical instruments can really sound great thrown into modern stuff.

Oh yeah, that reminded me, I also saw Bobby McFerrin play with the San Diego Summer Pops. It was out in the open-air auditorium that they set up in Seaport Villiage, great weather, might have been fireworks afterwards. I think Gatcat was there, too.

Best part: McFerrin conducted the Pops in the William Tell Overture, and had them do the horsehoof section a cappella. :-)
