Your poor nan :( I'm so sorry she's going through this. I hope she settles into the home and realises how much easier it is to get help when she needs it there!

I have a similar situation in my family with my grandma... She fell about 5 months ago was in hospital had surgery went to rehablitation...long story short she is now in assisted living.. this was a hard decision for my dad and his sibling but they just could not take the chance of her falling again plus she was not able to get around much less walk and do all those things... I was really worried because she is so not a social butterfly. She love being in her house with her own stuff.... another long story short its been 3 months she has been in this place the first couple of months were hell. she cried and was a mess and I really was kind of pissed because I thought how could my dad aunts and uncle do this to her.. Now to present she is fine and actually coming to terms with the fact she is not able to live without assist or by herself. She is now walking halls with a walker. She will never be able to go back home and now they sold her house to pay for her care in assisted living so there is no turning back. So I am totally ( ... )

That's so scary about the meds interaction. I'm glad they figured it out and she's doing better.

i seriously doubt it :/
it is not a nice nursing home :( its old & sorta run down.
BUT. its the only nursing home in bennettsville,where she lives.

we talked to her about going to cheraw's nursing home (closer to where i live & only 15 minute drive from bennettsville).its much much nicer.only a year old & has a sitting area & private bathroom.. but she says she dosent know anyone in cheraw & no one will visit her there.
but if this becomes a more permanent thing down the road..we will bring it back up with her again.
