Luckily I got both of them down when I was 16 or 18. Both of my great grandmothers were the ultimate southern ladies and I was in the kitchen with them a lot. My mom's gma could make the BEST chocolate pie with ile hgh mirengue...I'm still working on that! :p My dad's side was all about their/our family italian/sicilian recipes and cooking so I learned that from him (he's wonderful in the kitchen as was my grandad and my brother is too!). :) I love to cook but haven't much lately.
My mom got me an iced tea maker for Christmas last year. I love it. For sweet tea I either make a simple syrup or use sugar and only add it when the tea is hot (so it dissolves). Also, never put hot tea in the fridge. It brings out the tannins and it tastes bitter or acidic...
Yep. I leave it on the counter for a few hours until it's at least room temp. If tea has an "after taste" it's usually from going hot to cold too fast!
LOLZ I have the tea thing down.... but haven't ever attempted fried chicken. I do the oven fry thing. Does that make me 1/2 southern. Technically I think I am 1/3 southern woman. I lived for 20 yrs in NY and now we've been in NC for 10 years. It's funny, I used to pick on southern women and their mannerisms and sayings, and now when we go to NY for visits and people say things, I get offended.

What you need for good tea is nice (fair trade) teabags or leaves, a mug and a dash of milk ;) The cold stuff I can't help you with sorry :p

My Aunt makes incredible fried chicken and she said it's all about listening to the chicken LOL. I need to learn from her.
I'm glad that you are well on your way to mastering the art of frying chicken. Can't help you with the iced t, though I do like it.
