Since Japan has no armed forces, the Home Security Police has been called in but their efforts are having little or no effect. ( Read more... )

Ahhhhhh the memories. Today my father brought in the newspaper and it was covered in a plastic bag to protect it from the rain. At the sight of this, a "Japlish memory" rose to the surface of my mind; umbrella condoms!!! Or Brollydoms if you prefer, heheh. At most temples and other public places, a seemingly endless supply of elongated plastic sheaths were readily available to cover one's umbrella on a rainy day, thus preventing water from dripping on the floor. As I have said on countless occasions: ONLY in Japan!

Does that mean you guys are gonna be on my plane back on the night of the 26th from Ho Chi Minh?

Do you have SARS yet? You guys've been pretty quiet lately...

Yeah, that's cause I'm a slack bastard. Back in Oz already after having been delayed in Hong Kong by 3 days due to the flight being cancelled (sound familiar?). So we went from the plan to arrive in HK in the morning and fly out that night, to reduce the risk of infection, to having to stay 3 nights. Turned out better though, cause we caught nothing (except the delayed flight), and got to see Hong Kong.

Haven't bothered sending a new email telling everyone I'm home... Probably because then I might have to talk to people...
