Icons must be a shape other than the traditional square.

errmm i'm a little bit confused. Icons still have to be 100x100 right? do you mean change the shape of the image you're using within a 100x100 canvas and keep the background blank :S

Exactly. The icon still needs to be 100x100px, but the shape needs to be changed. It can be a rectangle, a circle, etc. Also, your background shouldn't be white (= don't save your icon under .jpg) but blank (.png or .gif).
