I know exactly what you are talking about and since the extinction of those type people will not be comming around any time soon, I have simply adapted to this situation. I take humor in encountering those people, seeing their hazy truths, clouded by their dishonest projection. Fuck them and cut them off. Of course, to be honest, I've never met someone that didn't have this flaw in their character. Some just have it more than others. The best advice that I can give on the encounter of such a person (a person full of shit) is to simply be the emotionaly honest person and communicate to them their little flaw with bluntness. Who gives a shit if they get mad or if their feelings get hurt. If you feel bad about that though, I'm sure you can point them to someone that will feed them all the bullshit that they want to hear in order to patch up their upset emotions.
