In The Game of Erie Winter, No One Wins

Feb 09, 2011 01:50

So, Groundhogs Day was last week, one of the weirder traditions we hold near and dear to us in good ol' Pennsyltuckey, and personally, I am (darkly) amused to no end. To anyone unfamiliar with the holiday, it's used as a weather-determining ritual, where poor ol' Mr. Groundhog comes out of his hole and we use the presense of his shadow to determine ( Read more... )

I'm with you! So over this freaking cold winter. Yeah, we haven't had the snow we usually get but these insanely cold temps are making me crazy.
I did manage to get Nerima Daikon Brothers series on dvd for $10 bucks so I've managed to keep my sense of humor while freezing my butt off.

I hear you on the temps! They are the PITS. My battery died on me while I was at the mall, and I had to wait a half hour for someone to come to jump me. I thought for sure I was going to lose a toe or two to frostbite! Where is the warm weather?!

Ha ha, glad to hear you liked the series! It is one quirky anime isn't it?

I think I know where the snow you're missing is. Want it back?

This cold is disgusting. We've had maybe one week, total, since November, that has been above freezing. If I hadn't taken in the Christmas decorations the day after Christmas, they'd still be out there, though the deer wouldn't be visible. You MIGHT be able to see Santa's hat.

I'm even looking forward to the ankle-deep mud that will come when the thaw finally shows up. I just assure myself there will be a thaw... someday...

NOOOOO, YOU CAN KEEEP IT. Or direct it towards some other town, we get enough!

Well, gotta give Farmers Almanac credit, they called it when they said that the average temperatures for January and February would be 10 degrees. If it weren't for those random few days where the temps skyrocket up to 30-40 degrees... MORE OF THOSE PLEASE.

It will thaw, IT WILL. AND THEN WE WILL DANCE THE DANCE OF JOY AND SHOOT CONFETTI BOMBS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND THE CHIBIS WILL RUN AT EACH OTHER AND EXPLODE!

Speaking of, sorry about the lack of storyage... I'm still working on something, it just turned out that for some reason, Jolene is a VERY hard character to write POV for...

(hope you see this, considering the time delay)
Yesssss, I have set aside the plot I was working on for now... mostly because it was holiday themed and the spirit got buried in the Boxing Day Blizzard. It's mostly done, but needs another page or two... maybe in July, or next November, the inspiration will resurface.

I was delighted to find two type-written pages to a story I KNEW I was missing at least two type-written pages to a part I had NO HEART to rewrite, which I have been working off and on on instead... it shall get to you when it reaches the stopping point I have in mind, which SHOULD be by (hopefully BEFORE) your birthday. ^.^;;;

There is another plot point in the same continuity that I'd hoped to send prior, but that one is barely even started. Perhaps I should send what I have on that one, to give me more time to work on the nearly completed one... hm....
