No idea why I'm posting about this. Prolly just to be random. XD Also, I so need a Pokemon icon...wtf!
ANYWAY.
Yesterday I started playing the Pokemon TCG again. It's a fun thing I've been doing on and off for a long time, and I had quit for a bit about 5 or 6 months ago
Well, yesterday Debbie, Justin, and I went to a Battle Roads. They're premiere event tournaments designed to increase the player rankings. There's Spring and Autumn. Spring ones are meant to increase rankings before Nationals (which decides if you go to Worlds), and Autumn ones are meant to jump-start the new season and get ahead.
I didn't have a good deck of my own, so my boyfriend Jamal made me one. I ended up going 2-1 (W-L) and placed 2nd. The kid I played for 1st was really a good sportsman, and it was fun to play him.
This was my last event before I go into the Masters category, which is the 3rd and final tier. I'm extremely nervous, since all of the good players are there. I'm sure for a while, I won't be able to win (which isn't a big deal to me anyway), but I'm still doubting that I'll win at all.
There's these 4 or 5 guys who are total douches and they play to win. They will change their deck at the drop of a hat and they will ruthlessly take advantage of every single archetype in the game to win. I honestly can't comprehend why they can't just take a break and let everyone else win a few times. These guys are in the 17/18/19 age range, and it's ridiculous.
I have a feeling if I ever make tops, I'm going to lose to them. Just like everyone else does. Part of me just thinks they're better players and they have better decks, but I'm also really hard on myself and I think that I'm no good.
I'm not gonna bother quitting 'cause of this, it's just this "douche crew" (as I've grown to call them) bugs me so much. I'm just hoping eventually I can just beat them sometime in tops. That'd be the highlight of my year. XD
Sorry about the random post. =P Yayyy.
