Baba Ganoush

Made baba ganoush last night for the first time. (an eggplant dip) I've never even TRIED the stuff. So when the recipe give you amounts, and then says 'to taste', I don't even know what it's SUPPOSED to taste like. Hmmm ( Read more... )

Actually, I bet if you cook the garlic first, it won't be so... strong. hehehe

Baking soda? I think that is a natural remedy.

I love baba ganoush! Go get some at Trader Joe's (its in the hummus section) and you will be able to compare.

*giggles*
and no, it doesn't taste strongly of garlic! :P

Found the info:
Therefore, drinking a whole
glass of water followed by a one tablespoon baking powder and a half a glass of
water is best. Do not do this if you have high blood pressure or are pregnant as
this can cause water retention and an increase in blood pressure.

Hmmmm.... I also seem to be out of baking powder. I knew there was something I kept forgetting to get at the store. I have baking soda though.

I didn't even think about the fact that Trader Joes might have baba ganoush. Next time I go, I'm picking some up!
