I concur with my esteemed colleague. In order for something like this to work, it would have to be carried on for longer than one day. The Snopes article explains it better than I could right now. Here's a hint: if something asks everyone to post it, it's probably not worth posting.

Then do it for two days. Or three. Nothing saying it has to be a single day. Besides, I'd rather do something fruitlessly than do nothing at all. I refuse to be one of those that say "I can't make a difference so I won't try." Nobody makes a difference if they don't try.
