There's been some swine flu going around here, and tonight my mom called me to make sure I was feeling okay and to make sure I would call her if I got sick. Apparently there have been enough outbreaks for it to make the news

I L-O-V-E cooking from scratch! For your oven, try setting it on a lower temp (I used to set mine at 75-100 degrees below the suggested temp), and double-stacking your bakeware (a cookie sheet under a baking pan always helps), and then just remember to check your food frequently, because sometimes it still gets done early. Crazy apartment ovens! I feel your pain

I've thought about the lower-temperature thing with the oven. I just have no confidence that the smoke alarm won't go off. I want to make a meatloaf. Yes, really. I love a good meatloaf. I also want to make bread

Chris likes meatloaf. It is not as gross as I thought it would be before I actually had meatloaf. (I literally ate it for the first time in my life last year.) Making bread would be cool. Have you done that before? I would be interested. Also, do you make regular bread or like banana bread or something? Chris is into raisin bread for breakfast but I have to assume you're not down with that

I am indeed anti-raisin bread. I have some mixes for some cool breads, but I could be down with making it from scratch too.
I think my lack of accent makes my French better. Angela doesn't have an accent either. Maybe it is Northwest Arkansas, although she's not from there and neither are you, and neither of you has an accent.
I just worry that you wouldn't have room on the floor. There's barely enough room for two people to lie side by side on the floor in my living room or in my bedroom. Also, my floor is slanted which is just awkward. If I had a pull-out couch that would be good, but I don't even have a full-length couch anymore - just a loveseat. We'll figure it all out, though.

I'm actively trying not to get the swine flu. :)
