Apparently, iPhone apps now come in super-offensive forms :(

AFAIK this was first brought to light here and in the second bullet-point in this post. Apple, known for being as proprietary a platform as you can get, has seen fit to approve the addition to its iPhone stores an application called "PeekABooTranny". What this seems to do is add alarming caricatures of trans women to any photographs you take. ( Read more... )

Yes, I am pleased :) Also thanks for reposting, I wasn't all that sure that anyone would either read or care about this!

... Sigh, I probably should have edited this post or indeed replied to you before today, but the internet's been being kinda stressful lately and I spent all of yesterday at a lovely improvised performance art things and there was DANCING and art and other generally cool stuff. I called Apple, but didn't manage to speak to anyone who understood exactly what was worth complaining about... So it was a fairly depressing experience, although I guess I helped spam them into acknowledging the outrage :|

I'm not sure I'd go as far as to call myself an activist, but I care a great deal about LGBT issues and know a lot of people who care too.
