Thanks! I got the idea from revisiting the opening scenes of 'Mulan', one of my favorite animated flicks. And from finally watching Les Miserables.

I don't know much about Anton and Ellen, only that they started off as how I'd imagined two favorite characters of mine if they'd gotten reincarnated as my contemporaries. But I like them very much, especially Ellen.

This has a 'reality' feel to it. I can envisage hundreds of people all over having similar conversations about signing the petition, feeling cynical and then finding a last speck of hope. Good take on the prompt.
