I'm a cynic if you ever met one, and I have to agree and disagree with this, because there are just so many sides. After tragedies, there are horrible things people do when desperate broadcasted everywhere, but that's in part due to the fact that the news picks what to focus on. What about the hundreds of thousands of donations that poured in, the volunteers that went to help, the businesses that donated? Two seniors from my high school that year went down for their spring vacation to volunteer with the clean-up, for instance, and this was repeated in numerous places everywhere. When Haiti and Chili happened, help poured in from the world. People banded together with a common thing like fandom to start auctions like help_haiti to raise money. I certainly don't believe that everyone in the world is fundamentally good, but I'd like to say the majority has essences.

Unfortunately, I would have to say that it's not enough to speak for humanity as a whole. If I could, then all the fighting and terrorism would end.I think the opposite is ( ... )

I definitely agree that there are so many sides. And you do have a point about news picking what to focus on, but I guess the example I used wasn't very good...'cause it's so easy to argue that so many good and bad things happen as a result of catastrophic events. It's always gray, and a majority of people do give back to the community/volunteer, etc ( ... )
