Title: Chapter One - Introducing the Toys
Pairing: A lot coming, but not really any in this chapter.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Chapter
Genre: Angst, Drama, Romance, Slash
Disclaimer: I do not own anything or anyone related to JE or D-boys. These are only ideas floating around my head that I decided to write about.
Summary: An AU fic about a group of young men who get auctioned off to the highest bidders. The winners get them for a night, but that's not where the only drama will be going on. There are also two owners who will make appearances, trainees, friends of those involved, and lots of mixed up feelings. Will doubtlessly be loaded with smut, drama, and lots of random pairings.
A/N: I decided to do something I thought would be interesting, because I like to write about several different pairings, and I like odd couples. I added not only my favorite JE boys to this, but also my favorite D-boys. More people will show up in the upcoming chapters of course. I chose the toys by random, and was really happy with the results. I quite like them, so we'll see how it goes.
A ragged sigh left the other boys lips and Tegoshi Yuya couldn't help but look over from his station. "What's wrong?" he asked before turning back to the mirror to fix his hair. It was the first night of the bidding war after all. It was a weekend event. One night for showing the goods, one day for buying, and then one night of service. After that was a break and then it was time for training. It was a difficult life, but not without its benefits. Tegoshi had never felt more safe and privileged than he did now, but it had cost him his freedom. It had cost all of them their freedom.
"I'm thinking about quitting." The comment from the other man made Tegoshi's entire body freeze except for his head which turned swiftly to stare in complete shock at Kamenashi Kazuya.
"Quit?" He repeated, quickly looking around to make sure no one had heard them. "Are you serious? Why would you even think that?"
Kame sighed again and leaned forward against his counter space, one of the nicest. He had been there longer than any of them now. Pressing his forehead against the back of one hand, Kame made it all too clear how tired he was. His entire body screamed that he'd had enough of this life. Tegoshi had always admired his strength and resolve to go on, but now he seemed past the point of caring. Trying to pull himself together enough for the both of them, Tegoshi stood and moved behind the other man. Patting his shoulder, a little harder than necessary, Tegoshi smirked at him through the mirror.
"It's just a job, Kame-chan." The older boy frowned at his choice of name, but Tegoshi knew he didn't really care that much. They were both used to worse. "The worst part will be over in a couple of days and then we can relax. Get the new guy to take care of some of your responsibilities and give yourself some time to recuperate. I promise you'll feel differently then, after you've had some time to think about it."
Kame stared at Tegoshi through the mirror, his face still set in the tired frown Tegoshi was getting more and more used to seeing. "You're right. There's nothing we can do but go on." It hurt to hear Kame sound that way, when they'd been working together so long, going through the same things. But Tegoshi didn't once falter enough to show that he was really concerned. That would only aggravate the problem. It was better to keep acting. It was the only way to get by. It wasn't like they would be allowed to leave anyway. Their owners wouldn't allow it.
Glancing over, Tegoshi moved his hand away from Kame, who began to fix his own hair, and followed his gaze to the other three. There were a grand total of five toys that were auctioned out. Tegoshi wasn't sure if they had anyone else in training yet, but he thought it was likely since their owners were eying expansion like the greedy men they were. They were all young men, all overage but not too old to be attractive to the bidders. Tegoshi had been one of the second to join, along with Seto Koji. He was a cute-acting dork who Tegoshi liked to think there was a lot more to than appearances showed. Everyone knew him as 'The Boy Next Door'. Next had been Yuichi Nakamura, who Tegoshi actually wasn't sure there was much of anything to. He almost always had a lollipop, or some other phallic shaped object in his mouth, playing up to not only the bidders, but the owners too. He acted silly and dumb, although there were times Tegoshi wasn't sure if it was really acting at all. After a particularly fond bidder had given him the nickname, 'The Sunny Boy' it had stuck. He was known to take anything thrown at him without losing his smile. Knowing what some customers might have asked of him, Tegoshi thought he had to be pretty gone in the head to maintain a happy demeanor no matter what. Then there was the new guy, Sakurai Sho, still going by that title. He'd only been there a couple of rounds, but he was already pretty popular. Tegoshi wasn't really sure what to make of him yet, or how good he would be at the job. But he seemed dedicated if anything, but also nervous and uncertain. Tegoshi could understand his feelings, but thought he should hide them a little better. He seemed like someone that could be gotten along with, if he lasted anyway.
Before Tegoshi could peek over Seto's shoulder to see which new video game he was playing on his DS, the door opened and an all heads turned to see a friend of one of their owners, and local pervert, walk through the door. Tegoshi felt his eyebrows rise in mild appreciation because he always found the other man interesting company. He couldn't say everyone was super fond of him, and his inclination to sneak a grope in every now and then. Actually Tegoshi knew he was into more than just groping, and he knew who his favorite was, who pretty much everyone's favorite was. He wasn't at all surprised when Kamenashi had gotten the title for bringing in more bidders than any of them. He had worked harder anyway. Tegoshi also didn't find himself surprised at all when the intruder went up to Kame and whispered in his ear before smirking at the others and walking out. Only moments later, Kame left the room, following him. Tegoshi sighed quietly before shoving Seto's legs out of the way so he could sit down on the couch beside him. The action received a surprised, "Oi!" Then a smile lit up Seto's features before he turned his face back to his game. Tegoshi watched him play with feigned interest, his mind elsewhere. No matter how tired Kame was, he still made time for everyone. Tegoshi wondered if it would end up being his downfall, and who would have to pick up the slack for him if it was.
