As you may know, I'm at a
workshop *coughcampcough* right now. Amoung other things, I wrote an narative-essay-thing on the effects that The Liridan Rebellion trilogy has had on my writing. Starting it off, I gave a bit of infomation on tLR. Not a whole lot, and some of it doesn't reflect the truth very well, and it definately doesn't describe

Or at least when I am thinking about it, there is no time or place. But I will. It will also probably help those people who wonder why I use the pen-name Aelaris on fictionpress.

Anyways, I agree with the person--this is interest-grabbing, back-of-the-book stuff. The kind of stuff that would make me really interested in reading the trilogy, if I had more time on my hands. You make the world, and the situations the characters are in sound interesting.
I googled "liridan rebellion" to find out more about it, and found only one short thread on it in the writing forum. Skimming through, it seems you created one long chapter, and a rich world, but didn't get further. Will it remain unfinished? I also noticed you mentioned the Dominion and Vakemia in that thread as major nations--out of curiosity, is Phoenix Blood set in the same world?
Okay, I'll stop pestering you with questions now!

I skimmed through the links you gave.
Dang, you really put thought into the history and details of your world! Makes my current attempt feel so...inadequate. It's definitely an inspiration.
What do you plan to do with these kinds of details, aside from using them to create a rich setting for your stories? Do you think of putting stuff like history and culture into appendices, or separate writings? Or will you just let the details exist in the background of your stories?

Anyway, yes, I am at the Fir Acres Workshop for Writing and thinking. I haven't found anything useful for my story writing, though my essays will probably improve some. It's not a fiction-writing workshop, unfortunately.

I agree with the person who read that little blurb. It would draw me into a story, definitely, and I usually determine whether or not I want to read a book by what it says on the cover and/or the first one or two pages of the book. I like it; it really catches ones attention and holds on to it. I'd like to read more!
And have fun at that workshop/camp/whatever you want to call it. It sounds like fun! Wish I could be there, but I had plans for this week...

Based on all the other comments and knowledge of you, I would say that you`re acting too much like me, my beloved twinsoul. FINISH a few things before starting too many new ones. Otherwise they just pile up and itch the back of your mind... *scratches the back of her skull in vain*
My two bits *peace sign*
I have been hanging out with Japanese teens too much...
