03 Jan - Having a peaceful dinner time after Thomas had gone to bed, watching a recorded TV programme with Andy. Hurray for lazing on the sofa.

Things That Made Me Happy Today
02 January: Taking time out to meet Andy for lunch, and talking about important things like "how many legs does a lobster has?" Thai food at Boat Quay. Touristy but very good food. Touristy prices too but stayed affordable with a Groupon voucher.

Things that made me happy today
This is something that I am starting for 2013. It's often too easy to feel down, unhappy, sad and generally dissatisfied with the state of things on a daily basis. I think most of us tend to grumble too much, myself included. So for every day of this year, I am going to note down at least one thing that makes me happy for that day. Red snapper and pea shoots
My mum bought some fish for Thomas last week. She ended up with a long tail portion that was clearly too much for a baby/toddler. (It's a long running debate that I have with her about the huge portions of fish that she buys for Thomas, and expensive fish too like threadfin and cod. Thomas' very first haircut
It is common practice here in Singapore and Malaysia that babies would have their heads shaved at 1 month old, and quite often through the first year. Thomas, however, has never had a haircut, much less a shave. His hair has been getting really long though, and I've had to do some DIY trimming when his hair was getting into his eyes, over his ears ( Read more... ) -
Thomas, my funny boy (or girl?)
Andy was out walking with Thomas the other day. An auntie walked past, smiled at Thomas and exclaimed, "Pretty girl!" She then belatedly looked at Andy and asked, "Err, girl?" So funny. 26 weeks (6 months)

Comparing photos
We were getting ready to bring Thomas out yesterday and I was snapping some photos when I noticed how much he looked like me in my baby photos. Most people have commented that he looks a lot like Andy. I am personally not that certain, but I do think that he has Andy's lips, head, his grandpa's forehead, and my eyes and nose. Andy's cake evening
Andy arranged to get together with some of his fire-spinning friends for drinks to celebrate his birthday. Somebody brilliantly pointed out that since Andy doesn't drink anyway, they should go out for cake instead. So the plan ended up being cake and drinks yesterday evening ( Read more... )
