Ugh, fantards.

Shippers bother me. Seriously. I mean, fine, it's cool to like a pairing, write about it, draw fanarts, obsess over it to a certain degree.... but honestly. If you have to go so far to hate another pairing and bash it to get your high, it sucks. For example, in Code Geass, I like two pairings a lot-- and apparantly these two ships are rivals? Here's what would happen if you wrote a MacGonagal/Dumbledore fic: I would have to tell you you're spelling McGonagal wrong and shake my head at you. If, however, you wrote a McGonagal/Dumbledore fic, I, at least, would give a hearty "Huzzah!" and read it :D If you're worried about what people would say because of Dumbledore's orientation, point out that people have been changing the sexuality of other characters for quite a while, and all you're doing is the same, but the other way around. If they whinge at you, take a look at what stories they write, and if they've put any slash fics about straight characters, tell them they can't talk because they've done the same thing. If they then say homophobia, you say heterophobia, lulz.

Kataang is canon?? Did you see that on TV or are the latest episodes on the internet already??

I need to read this Code Geass! XD That situation must suck abit. *hugs*

There's Zutara fans bitching about it not being canon. ...
lol whut?
I LOVE this pairing but I've known for ages that it'll never be canon (And the interaction they got in the end made my hear soar!) it was painfully obvious! How can the bitch about it not being canon if it was always a fanon pairing? LOL!

Dumbledor/McGonagal? It's always tickled my fancy, but I won't be big on and fanfic for the fandom. I don't know why I am, ^^;

Whoa big comment for me XD *shot*

Yesh... you must watch Code Geass!! It's actually only an anime... but I can link you to the episodes if you'd like. *hugs back*

High five! Another sane Zutara fan! I've always adored Zutara, and there was plenty of awesome interaction, but it's been pretty obvious it was only ever going to be a fanon pairing. People need to grow up and quit hating on things and just enjoy the pairing. 8D

Extremely late reply! Sorry! ><

And I'd love it if you could link me to some episodes! It seems like a cool anime!

*high fives* Zutara is epic win! (Ah I've got addicted to that saying) True words!

This should work for most of the beginning episodes. For the ones that don't work, you can go to imeem.com and search the videos for which episodes you want.

*is apparently stalking from journal to journal tonight*

I've always wondered how fandom would react to putting a canonically homosexual character into a heterosexual relationship. I think the thing is... with heterosexuality being the standard, the normative, etc., you don't usually come out and say, point blank, this character is straight. Or at least, not in a way that can't be challenged. When you make a character gay, however, you're already making a statement and stepping into new territory, and to backtrack from the queer to the normative... thematically it's quite different from slashing.

Ai, I wish fandom could just be completely bisexual. :(

Hello person stalking my journal!

I think I get what your saying. Although in HP, Harry is kind of obsessed with Ginny for a while and then marries her-- pretty much signifying that he's canonically straight, IMO. The guy still gets paired with Malfoy all the time. But I see your point.

Thank you for gracing me with your presence in my journal!

You are very much welcome. XD

Harry... the Ginny relationship always struck me as weird, but there's also Cho Chang to consider, and the fact that JK Rowling has come straight out and assigned characters sexuality. But then again, people don't always figure out their orientation until later in life, and he was always disturbingly obsessed with Malfoy. It doesn't really work on the Malfoy side because PUREBLOOD FAMILY OF DEATH that comes before everything, but oh, well. XD
