Bod didn't have to work today. His schedule was almost as weird as Kate's but a little more flexible since he didn't have to get on a plane and fly different places all the time. He just had to take a walk a few miles down the street and get to work

Speaking of his American flight attendant girlfriend, she was just now getting home after an early shift, and subsequently voting.

"Oh my God," she called out, immediately after coming in, "I've never been as happy that my work shoes are sensible as I am right now. Seriously."

There'd been a line. Kate was not great at waiting in line.

"Are your feet a little sore?" Bod asked, putting his book down and smiling over at her. "Was the wait very long? The local media has been doing stories about long lines all around the city."

"It went on forever." Of course, he knew how she liked to exaggerate. She kicked her shoes off and went to hang her coat up. "So much standing around for my country."

"Well, I'm very proud that you waited and persevered," Bod said, smiling at her. "And now you're home and you can get off your feet and relax and watch the news."
