I have a wonderful friend. It feels like it's been a long time since someone said such kind things to me. I don't know if it's just tactlessness, ignorance, or (for some reason) genuine spite, but I've had a lot of very nasty things thrown at me by people I once cared about. But she speaks to me in ways that I have desperately needed to hear for
