His heart still beat erratically and a light sheen of perspiration covered his skin. Remus moved off of Severus, but wrapped his right arm tightly around his chest and rested his cheek on the bony, pale shoulder.

Severus' low voice rumbled through his chest. "I did not realise you had a tattoo."

"Yeah, I got it a long time ago."

"Why? I would imagine you had enough character to your skin."

Remus sighed. "I was eighteen and I wanted to control at least one of the marks on my body."

Severus' finger ran over the small, black print that ran from Remus' shoulder halfway to his elbow. "What does it say? The typeface is a bit ornate to read from this angle."

"Luctor et emergo -- I struggle and emerge."

"A translation was not necessary, I do speak Latin." Severus' finger continued to play across the words.

There was silence for a few minutes.

"I thought I was being clever. As if I was letting the wolf speak." Remus finally said.

"We all had some pretty foolish notions at that age." Severus murmured as he looked toward his upturned left arm.

Remus kissed his shoulder and moved to nuzzle the long, elegant neck. Severus stomach growled. Remus shifted to kiss the flat, rumbling belly before he shifted his focus lower. Fingers threaded in Remus' hair and tighten, holding him still.

"Perhaps you could struggle over to the kitchen and emerge with something to eat. Not all of us are werewolves and after two rounds I am famished."
