The recent inquiry for stories from Iowa in abortioninfo left me thinking about my own situation. Being an Iowa resident all my life, I felt compelled to share my story... which lead me to realize that I hadn't shared my story here.

I've been thinking about all of these things for the last few weeks. And I think I've figured out two things: that I actually do want to have kids in spite of my fears of becoming a parent and what I know I need from my significant other if I'm going to have a child with him.
Hmm that just kinda feels weird to admit.

See, and thats what my family does not get at all (they are all very pro life.. UGH) . You made a choice (i personally think it was the right one) to be able to provide a life for you and your daughter and raise her. You are not a "low life" welfare mom and seriously - if anyone says that to you, direct them to me and I will kick them in the balls or cunt depending on the gender.

I am VERY pro choice. VERY much so. I cannot judge a person in a situation in which they feel helpless and unable to have any other choice.

What irritates me is that the system is stacked against most people. Birth control=VERY expensive if you don't have health isurance. (and those people who say "well then just don't have sex are morons) and moreover, even if birth control wasn't expensive the schools teach "absenince only" crap. and then people who end up pregnant w/ kids and need a hand up, or some extra assistance are looked down on. It irriates the piss outta me.
