The recent inquiry for stories from Iowa in
abortioninfo left me thinking about my own situation. Being an Iowa resident all my life, I felt compelled to share my story... which lead me to realize that I hadn't shared my story here.
WARNING! Potentially touchy subjects behind the cut as well as some fairly personal details.

A long-winded story about my trials and tribulations in the past and why I am and so supportive of abortion rights now )

Hmm that just kinda feels weird to admit.
Thanks Jess, if that's even the right thing to say. ;-)

I am VERY pro choice. VERY much so. I cannot judge a person in a situation in which they feel helpless and unable to have any other choice.
What irritates me is that the system is stacked against most people. Birth control=VERY expensive if you don't have health isurance. (and those people who say "well then just don't have sex are morons) and moreover, even if birth control wasn't expensive the schools teach "absenince only" crap. and then people who end up pregnant w/ kids and need a hand up, or some extra assistance are looked down on. It irriates the piss outta me.
