I love this! It is just wonderful in so many ways, I adore how their relationship slowly progresses, and Kurt punching Sebastian was just totally BAMF~ <3
I must admit, because I am a cruel and sadistic person, I really enjoyed the initial hurt-Blaine-back aspect of this story, haha! Like, that definitely scratched some kind of Blaine-hating itch for me without the writing ever veering into character bashing. But the way Kurt and Sam's real relationship developed under the guise of a fake relationship was wonderfully done. I feel like what could have been a cliched set-up was not only satisfying in its initial purpose for being, but the escalation of friendship to attraction was just very real and sweet, so it delivered in every way. I really enjoyed this. :)
Blaine's creys are always a plus, but I'm glad it didn't read like total bashing because with him I feel like I've lost perception of where that line really is. And I'm so relieved the pacing worked with Kurt and Sam, we have so little canon kum even finding their starting position was a bit tricky. Thanks so much!
This is seriously one of the best fics I've read in quite a while. I love how you included all of the supporting characters, but I particularly love both Kurt's internal journey from being hung up on Blaine to falling for Sam and Sam's hinted at journey from helping out a friend to feeling so much more. I will definitely be reading this one again.
That means a lot, thank you. Especially about the pacing of this fic, because I always struggle with that, and I didn't want it to lean towards kum or lean away from klaine too quickly (which is hard because klaine). I'm glad you liked this as much.
Wow. Just had to comment, because this is fantastic. Sam's little quirks made me laugh, the development... it was like a rom-com done so so so right, because there's that formula in the set-up (pretend! get back at him!), or I guess cliche as was noted about, but there's a reason certain things reoccur.Tried and true, when they work, or are done right, they're so right.
I kind of love rom-com-esque fic but I wasn't sure I'd be good at it, so I'm glad it worked well enough for you. And writing Sam's funny brand of dorkiness is always a blast. I'm glad you enjoyed this, thanks so much!
