I like it a lot.
But it's sort of funny ETS people are talking about oscar nominations.
Good stuff never get nominated.

I like it quite a lot. More than I thought I would, even though I do like scores. (A lot of people only like soundtracks, and/or don't know the difference.)

Thanks for the HD version. I got mine pretty early yesterday but I think it's still just regular MP3s.

You're a very knowledgeable person, so maybe you can clear this up for me:
if it's an album of instrumental pieces, all of which were written for the movie, but only some of which are used IN the movie - is it still a score?

I ask it this way specifically, because "the matrix score" CD release is 100% the (orchestral) music playing in the background of the movie, from start to finish.
The Star Wars Score as well, mostly. (Although there are a double of unused tracks, so...)

I know that technically it's still a "soundtrack" even if it is also a score, but shh.

A score is written for the movie although a lot of times there are songs that were written (and which are provided on the CD) that didn't end up making it into the movie. Although, I think (but am not 100% positive) that as far as awards go, the nomination is based only on the parts of the score that were in the movie--not any additional songs that are released on the CD but were not IN the movie ( ... )

I imagine that one could win "Best Original Score" simply for the music in the movie, without releasing the music separately, or am I wrong?
