Progress: Episode 9 Updated
1932:
~ Likely just after midnight, beginning the new year, Eve Genoard is under the guard of Sugarcube and two other Runorata gansters when Gustavo Baggetta returns with a bowl of fruit and introduced himself to her. He assures her that they wouldn't be killing her and apologizes for the rough treatment. Eve Genoard remembers hearing the Runorata name before, and Gustavo Baggetta replies that it was because three generations of Genoards had been involved with them. She asks him what he was planning to gain from kidnapping her, and Gustavo Baggetta replies that he was hoping to meet her brother, Dallas Genoard, who was playing a "prank" on him, and he expected him to appear once he found out what had happened to her. He asks her if she was scared, and Eve Genoard reacts defiantly. Gustavo Baggetta is impressed with how tough she was and reveals that Dallas Genoard was blackmailing him with evidence that he had killed their father and brother, which Eve demands to know if it was true. Gustavo Baggetta just says that if they had been as tough as her, they might have lived five minutes longer, and Eve Genoard tells him that God would punish him. Gustavo tells her that only the strong survived, but Eve Genoard disagrees and begins to pray. Gustavo Baggetta shrugs and Sugarcube continues to snack. [Episode 8]
~ Eve Genoard suddenly wakes up a few hours later and sees that Sugarcube and Gustavo Baggetta were sleeping while the other guards were gone altogether. She takes the chance to escape, hurrying down the hall. Sugarcube, who was actually awake all along, just closes the door behind her. [Episode 8]
~ A mysterious figure atop the Flying Pussyfoot finds a message and declares that they'll find the writer for sure before jumping off the train. [Episode 1]
~ The police, Inspector Sullivan, and his partner, Donald Brown, discover many bodies thrown from the Flying Pussyfoot and continue to investigate the incident, remarking that it would be covered up because it relates to something top secret. Once alone, Saliban and his partner confirm to themselves that an immortal had been aboard, and that they're still unsure about an important person's safety (who may be the immortal they mentioned), but they're interrupted by another policeman who informs them that they'd found two survivors who'd fallen off the train. [Episode 1]
~ Before the inspectors arrive at the scene, the survivors who'd fallen from the train, Ladd Russo and Lua Klein, sit in the snow, surrounded by police officers. Ladd Russo has managed to somehow lose most of his left arm and is covered in blood, but Lua Klein is only slightly dirty and completely unharmed. [Episode 1]
~ Chane Laforet is found clinging to a crate drifting down the river by the people recovering the luggage that fell from the Flying Pussyfoot. [Episode 1]
~ Firo Prochainezo, Ennis, Maiza Avaro, Keith, Berga, and Luck Gandor wait at the station for the Flying Pussyfoot to arrive as they talk about the train and their friends riding it. [Episode 1]
~ The Flying Pussyfoot arrives in New York City, and the welcome wagon is surprised with the poor appearances of the arriving passengers. A girl in green (Rachel) gets off the train limping with one leg wrapped in bandages, and an injured Jacuzzi Splot makes a scene while Nice Holystone supports him and Donny follows behind. Isaac Dian and Miria Harvent appear, and exuberantly greet Maiza Avaro, Ennis, and Firo Prochainezo despite looking like they'd been put through a lot. Czeslaw Meyer approaches Maiza Avaro, his "old friend", somewhat distrustfully. [Episode 1+9]
~ A station official brings a note to Luck Gandor, and he and his brothers leave the station. [Episode 9]
~ The Gandor brothers quickly find Claire Stanfield waiting for them on the street outside the station. Berga Gandor asks why he wasn't inside, and Vino answers that he wasn't going by "Claire Stanfield" anymore and wasn't a conductor anymore either. When Luck Gandor asks what they should call him, he says either "Vino" or "Rail Tracer" would be fine for now. Vino asks who they wanted him to kill this time, and hopes it was a job he could use his full ability to do, since he had only gotten a bit of light exercise on the train and was getting rusty. He wants to do it ASAP because there was someone he wanted to search for: someone who might agree to marry him. The Gandor brothers glance at each other. [Episode 9]
~ Nicholas Wayne learns from his assistant that the Flying Pussyfoot had arrived in the city, but not too safely, considering that all the passenger cars had to be replaced, but doesn't know what exactly happened, since the Nebula Company was restricting information. All he knows was that it had been a large incident that had gotten many passengers killed. Nicholas Wayne remembers that Rachel was supposed to have been on board, so decides to wait for her report. The assistant brings his attention to the front door, which Rachel had just entered, using a crutch to keep her weight off her injured leg. [Episode 9]
~ Nicholas Wayne and Rachel go to speak with the director, who is glad to see that she was all right, since he had heard only terrible things about the Flying Pussyfoot, and is honored that she works for him. Nicholas Wayne teases her, asking if she had taken a free ride again, but Rachel is not embarrassed and the director reprimands him for his insensitivity, saying that he should have been able to tell that the situation wasn't normal just by looking at her leg, and Nicholas Wayne apologizes. The director would rather that Rachel rested, but needs her report immediately, so gets straight down to business, asking who the black-suited and white-suited people were, but Rachel has nothing on either group, and tells the director that he already knew more about the incident than her. The director then asks about Rail Tracer, and Rachel remembers the name from overhearing the conversation between Jacuzzi Splot, Isaac Dian, and Miria Harvent. The director tells her that Rail Tracer was a legendary monster who lurked in the shadows of the railroad, and Rachel responds that she couldn't be sure if it was Rail Tracer or not, but there had definitely been a monster on the train. [Episode 9]
~ Rachel tells the director that the monster had been wearing a conductors uniform and when she had seen him, he had asked her to show him her ticket. Nicholas Wayne laughs, but quickly controls himself and apologizes. Rachel tells the director that she was certain that the monster had known she was a stowaway, and the director announces his conclusion that the monstrous conductor was actually Vino. He explains that Vino was feared as a monster who seemed to appear and disappear in various cities without warning, but it made sense that he was actually traveling to and from these places to commit his assassinations by train. The director summarizes Claire Stanfield's life. He had been orphaned at a young age and was raised by his next door neighbors, the Gandors. He became so close to them that he was practically family, but he joined a circus later on, where he developed his natural talent into superhuman strength and skill, which came in handy when he later became an assassin. [Episode 9]
~ The director explains that Vino's killing method was famous for being incredibly filthy. He would nearly destroy the body and they appeared to be drowned in red wine, hence his nickname, Vino. Apparently, Claire Stanfield wasn't satisfied with his work as an assassin unless he took it that far. [Episode 9]
~ The director asks Nicholas Wayne if Claire Stanfield had gotten in contact with the Gandor brothers, and he answers yes. [Episode 9]
~ Rachel wonders what motives Vino had for the way he had killed people indiscriminately on the train, but the director corrects her, saying that each kill was based on Vino's personal sense of ethics, though they were a little warped. Rachel adds that she had also witnessed him killing a boy of about ten years of age, but the director is unconcerned and tells her that she could probably ask him about it later, which confuses her. [Episode 9]
~ The director still has many questions for Rachel to answer, and moves on, asking her how she had injured her leg. [Episode 9]
~ Eve Genoard watches workers comb the bottom of one of New York City's harbors, presumably waiting for Dallas Genoard's body to be recovered. [Episode 3]
