I dared to hop on the scale this morning... not a pretty picture.  I need to get my rear in gear and get serious about losing some of this weight.  And NO MORE EATING OUT.  That's what gets me.  I get off work late, I don't have a plan for dinner, so I go to the drive thru or I order pizza.  I ordered pizza last night.  Got to stop.  I'm going to ( Read more... )

Speaking of diets, I just started the Sonoma diet last night and I'm really liking it so far. My doctor recommended it to me, since I like to cook and you can drink wine with it.

Let me know if you want any pep talk/desperation hotline, etc.

Love!

I almost called you last night, I was having another of my bad nights. Not as bad as some, but it wasn't fun.

I think I'm going to try the low fat diet I was on before, that seemed to work pretty well. I'd kill to only be as skinny as I was two years ago, and that wasn't even all that thin. :(

Anyways, tell me more about this Sonoma diet. What's the premise? I mean, if it allows wine it can't be all bad. ;)

It's mainly based around mediterranian foods - right now I'm on the initial ten day sort of restricted version, to get me off my craving for sweets and processed sugar/flour.

You do have carbs, they're just whole grain instead of white-flour based. The thing that appeals to me is 1. good flavorful food and 2. no calorie/carb/etc counting. Basically you get two sized plates (7-inch or 2 cup bowl for breakfast and 9-inch for lunch/dinner) and you use the 'pie chart' of the section you're on to fill with good food. Like, on the restricted version for dinner, it's a 30/20/50 ratio for protein, grains and vegetables, whereas when you move into the long-term weight loss section it's 25/25/25/25 protein, grains, vegetables and fruit. I always really sucked at the calorie/carb counting, so this is good for me. Plus, all three recipies I've tried so far have been delicious.
