DC opinions

I was already really not ok with Superman vs Batman. I think Zack Snyder has a great eye and a tin ear. I think Nolan is great with spectacle, but as soon as you think too hard, the plot falls apart. And I think Frank "Whores" Miller is a giant fucking misogynistic hack who has his place in comic book history, and needs to never be the spotlight ( Read more... )

I don't even get what the 'logic' is, there has been EXACTLY ONE Superman movie and we're supposed to care about him in a Dark Knight Returns story? It does not make the sense.

Cranston is confirmed for Luthor because why the hell not. I mean, I love him, and you're 100% right, but he will be stuck in a terrible, terrible movie, and we all know it.

It's going to be a hot mess. Warner's just been terrible with the way they use DC. I'm still kind of annoyed that it looks a LOT like there was executive meddling and they're introducing superpowers into the Arrow universe, because they want to use the show as a way to introduce the rest of the JLA, and they don't think audiences are smart enough to understand if there are 2 versions of the character at once.

Although I would love if the CW just mined DC properties forever. You could have a Hellblazer/Swamp Thing show, or a Twilight Zone style show called Sandman Presents, and Lucian in the Dreaming library could be the framing device.

Every time a new announcement comes up, the comment sections on The AV Club (still my favorite pop culture website) just disintegrate into "why don't they just use the DCAU?"

They never let Batman on Smallville 'cause they were afraid people would get confused. Just. Eyerolling forever.

I'd watch it.

Yeah. The other thing making me want to punch them is they keep saying Wonder Woman needs to be done 'right' so they're waiting.
