I'm not usually one for this is my life posts, but I'm feeling the need to whine. There's been a few things that are just so wtf, I'm not sure how to process them and I think I need to just babble for a bit.

So last Friday, my favorite aunt informed me and her sons that our grandmother died via text message. It was faster just to text us all at once you understand.

I tried calling mom when I got home, and because she doesn't have call waiting or voice mail, I couldn't get through. She finally called me at 7pm (the text came in at noon, didn't actually see it until after 5) and was surprised I was trying to get in touch with her. I wryly say, "I got the text", and mom's response was, I assumed you'd be busy.

To be fair, none of us were terribly close to grandma (mom had been informed that she'd not been to visit in seven years when she went up for a cousin's wedding a few months ago), but there are occasions where it's OK to interrupt someone's work day.

I didn't fly back, because we were already short staffed in our booth for what is effectively the E3 of the food trade. Which holy crap I'm out of shape and 3 days later I'm still achy and exhausted from being on message without break. I was complaining Monday that even my toenails hurt from standing on concrete for hours, and today I finally realized I probably injured my big toe in some way, since it's kind of purple under the nail.

I had a delivery attempted on Monday and they got confused because we've still got the old company's sign up, never mind we weren't in due to holiday/trade show. So I get a call to verify our address on Wednesday. They still haven't shown up to deliver, and the warehouse is like 10 miles from here. If we had a truck I could just go get it. I'm going to have to try and track down a person who knows now, which sucks, because while the warehouse is local, their customer service is apparently all in Idaho.

Or I'm assuming they didn't try and redeliver yet. I was the only one in the building yesterday for about 3 hours, and had to drive to a vendor 30 miles away so I could pick up bags. I wanted to wait it out until the night crew came in, but apparently my bag maker who used to close at 4 now closes at 2:30. Not sure when that happened. I tried getting one of the crew to come in. I texted him, and said, this is what's happening, I've got to leave by 1:30. He says ok. He calls me at 3 as I'm almost back to the office, because no one's there. I say, I'm about 5 minutes away, and am driving, so I'll talk to you in a bit.

He went ahead and clocked out, because he didn't know what to do. I'm like dude, I just told you I was almost there. I admire that you don't want to get paid for not doing anything, but COME ON, you're actually allowed by law to take a break on the clock.

I've got a painter desperately trying to confirm he's doing our remodel, so he's calling me about when he can meet with the boss, which if he'd not flaked and shown up when they'd originally scheduled to meet he wouldn't be flipping out now. But she's had a series of emergencies not including the big all hands on deck that was the Show, so she's not had time to fit him back in.

My desk is buried in business cards and samples from the show, I've got about a dozen projects I need to get done, but see also, my desk is buried, and I'm too spacy to focus thanks to the wtf this week. And apparently every janitorial service in the state has decided to call me this week to put in bids.

tl;dr I'm tired, and whiny, and can my parcel service just show the fuck up already so I can go home.and I have NO IDEA what time the shipping clerk told them we close, but they're not here yet, and I may have to have a conversation with that girl that she needs to tell people we close at 4.
