The real problem I see with this person's assertion is that "freedom of choice" in education is all in the eye of beholder. If this person really believed in freedom of choice, they would also advocate religious theories to be taught in all schools. Secular schools do not give anymore freedom of choice. They only teach what is accepted in a post-enlightenment world, and have completely dropped the schools of thought that were considered the most important throught the majority of history.

I don't think it's so much about spreading atheism or Christianity. There are plenty of kids who go to faith-based schools and come out wanting nothing to do with religion. And there are plenty of kids who come out of secular schools who are completely devoted to Christ. My problem is with this idea of "freedom of choice." This person is completely oblivious to the fact that his/her own proposals are filled with bias and personal opinions just like those he criticizes.

Anyway, those are my thoughts :)
