He is so "textbook enigmatic" in this story. I have no idea if he's thinking along the lines of "No, I can't POSSIBLY be with my companions," or maybe "I just spent the whole evening getting turned on by Jack, so it would be really wrong to have something happen with Rose right now" or (more likely) something I can't even imagine. I admire Rose's maturity in resisting the urge to stick her tongue out at him.
The dress sounds pretty. And what's Jack wearing? Does he coordinate with the others? :)

He is, but he's got his reasons. Not necessarily good ones, and Jack and Rose would talk him out of them if they knew, but he's in a spectacular fit of denial on all sorts of levels. As to the reasons you listed - it's kind of "all of the above, and then some."

It's based on something I wore in a dance program once. I loved it, and I think it would work on Billie Piper because her body type is so "square" (even when she's too thin, her waist doesn't really create an indentation in her figure). The cut and flow of the dress tends to give even twiglet dancers (one of which I definitely wasn't) a bit of an hourglass shape.
And what's Jack wearing? Does he coordinate with the others? :)Ha! I didn't describe his clothes, did I? But since you asked, in my mind he was wearing black trousers, a white T-shirt/jersey shirt, and a short, black suede jacket, cut a bit like an American letter jacket.
