Character Name: Rokujo Miharu
Fandom: Nabari no Ou

Age: 15
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation (if applicable): Still hasn't finished puberty so nothing definite while canon hasn't hinted at anything.

Physical Appearance: At a towering height of five feet two inches (rounded up), Rokujo Miharu is a pretty scrawny kid. He doesn't eat much, often feeling full after two bites of a meal, which results in him being skinny as a rail. In addition to this, Miharu doesn't have much meat on his bones since he is about as strong as a kitten. Everything about his frame is delicate and thin, bones poking out at sharp angles with no fat anywhere. Add all these things together and you have a tiny teenage boy with matchstick limbs who looks about as threatening as a bug.

Miharu's facial features are the positive part of his appearance. With black hair and large green eyes, his face is, simply put, adorable. Nearly every person he meets automatically thinks of him as a cute kid (which is usually disregarded once they get to know him). He has learned to blush and cry at will to use his looks to his advantage. Due to his cute appearance, many people quickly give in to him out of guilt. Who could say no to that face? Miharu's sense of fashion doesn't exist most of the time, leading to some odd choices in attire. Most of the time, he will wear a most likely school-issued beige sweater over a button-down shirt with long shorts. When he's not dressed in that, he usually has a cardigan or some type of sweater on. He doesn't hesitate to wear shorts in cold weather, even donning short shorts and thigh-high stockings in the winter. Miharu's choices in clothing are usually more feminine than boyish, not that he can really tell the difference.

Personality and Traits: The most important part of Miharu's personality is the indifference he clings to so desperately. His parents died when he was a child, hurting him so much that he decided to be indifferent towards everything in order to avoid further pain. He doesn't care about anyone or what they do, have any preferences towards anything, or even have likes and dislikes. Miharu avoids getting close to anyone, fearing he will be rejected or lose them, even if someone claims they are his friend. He craves love more than anything but is constantly scared away by the possibility of pain. This shield of indifference is shattered when he is dragged into the ninja world, requiring him to care about the fact that he is being hunted by many powerful ninja.

The only person to have ever slipped past his wall of indifference is Yoite, whose existence Miharu promised to erase. With Yoite, Miharu has learned to care for another person, so much that he is willing to do almost anything to make him happy. The relationship between the two is not exactly healthy with Yoite's life quickly draining away and Miharu hopelessly dependent upon him. Without Yoite, Miharu wouldn't know what to do with himself. He clings to Yoite with desperation, realizing that he would be lost without him at his side. Yoite is the only person that can make Miharu happy, make him smile, or make him laugh. However, Miharu is constantly aware he has promised to erase Yoite's existence, causing him to question why he would care for someone he needs to erase and if he could even bring himself to erase Yoite. As a result of this, Miharu laments over the loss of his indifferent lifestyle while trying to keep up the facade of not caring for anything.

Another side to Miharu's personality is the little devil he can sometimes be. Often, his mischievousness is subtle, hidden in a softly snide or sarcastic remark. Other times, it's blatant as he uses his cute looks to his advantage. He will act sad and pitiful to get adults to help him, whether it's giving him a discount or helping him carry luggage. Miharu will also cry or tear up in order to deflect questions he doesn't want to answer as it usually causes the inquisitor to feel guilty and drop the subject. Acting cute and bubbly, he can make someone feel like a complete idiot by pretending to be in awe of them. With a more subtle approach, Miharu utilizes deadpan sarcasm to make a person recoil in shock or shame. When Miharu isn't detached from a conversation, he will mouth off to others with the mastery of a true brat or act cute to shock them into feeling guilt.

Canon Background: In modern day Japan, there are two worlds; the front world that everyone is a part of, and the world of Nabari, where ninja strive to gain power over each other and survive. In the latter world, there is one thing that every ninja wants: the Shinrabanshou, an omnipotent hijutsu sealed inside of one person. That one person happens to be Rokujo Miharu.

No one really knows what happened ten years in that world, though Miharu does know that it is when his parents died. He doesn't know the reason or the circumstances but it altered his life regardless. After that one night when he was four years old, he adopted his indifferent lifestyle. The only person who remembers the events of that night is Miharu's teacher Thobari Durandal Kumohira, though he refuses to tell Miharu.

After the death of his parents, Miharu lived with his grandmother, working in the family's okonomiyaki shop. At the age of fourteen, he was introduced to the world of Nabari when ninja discovered that the Shinrabanshou was being contained in his body. Eventually, he began to study ninjutsu under Thobari as ninja began to hunt him down.

One of the organizations of ninja that yearn for the hijutsu is Kairoushuu, members of which Miharu runs into while traveling to the village of Fuuma. Yoite is Kairoushuu's trump card, using the forbidden technique kira in battle. Shortly after Miharu returns to his hometown, Yoite kidnaps him. He forces Miharu into agreeing to erase his existence once he learns to control the hijutsu by threatening to kill Miharu's friends and teacher. From that point on, Miharu begins to work with Yoite behind his teacher's back. Eventually, Miharu decides it would be easier to join the Kairoushuu and travels to the city of Iga to live with Yoite and Yukimi Kazuhiko.

Together, Miharu and Yoite attempt to gather all the kinjutsu scrolls in order to learn to control the Shinrabanshou. Eventually, the two realize they do not have enough time left before kira kills Yoite. Desperate, they demand the scrolls from the head of Kairoushuu, Hattori, who refuses and verbally attacks Yoite. Yoite attacks the head and seeing this as a sign of rebellion, Hattori orders a team of elite ninja to capture Miharu and kill Yoite. They lay low for a while, hiding in any abandoned building they can find, until they decide to return to Miharu's hometown.

Strengths/Abilities: The Shinrabanshou is omnipotent, containing all the wisdom of the world. Essentially, it can grant any wish Miharu makes. In addition to this, as a ninja, Miharu knows a few basic techniques, including teleportation, blowing a gust of wind, and replacing objects with other things. He can also use a few powerful techniques more than once, such as creating huge flames, though his knowledge of ninja techniques are severely limited.

Weaknesses/Faults: Miharu is not very strong. At all. In fact, most people could overpower him with one arm tied behind their back and fling him across the room with almost no effort. Psychologically, he is afraid to show his emotions and will bottle up his problems. He also refuses to eat more than a few bites of food at a time, which is, though not anorexic, worryingly unhealthy. Miharu is also far too dependent upon Yoite to be healthy, especially seeing as how Yoite is dying.

Items Brought With Them (anything aside from the clothes on their back): A cell phone, which probably won't work because this is Livejournal RP.

First Person Sample: [Out of nowhere, there is a crash on the pavement next to Miharu.]

[A full second passes.]

[His head turns to look at the source of the noise.] Ah.

[He looks up at the man hanging out of his third story window, staring at the ground in dismay.] Your flowerpot fell. [The man thanks him sarcastically and Miharu leans down to pet the cat that came over to inspect the broken clay. He distracts the cat by scritching its face as it starts to lick one of the pieces.]

You shouldn't lick that, you might cut your tongue. [He watches as a teenage girl in a hurry steps on the broken pot and flower soil, making a frustrated noise before continuing down the street.]

Watch out for the pot.

Third Person Sample: A bell rung as Miharu entered the pet shop, Yoite in tow. He hesitated a bit, unsure of what to look at first, before spotting the cages that held the cats. "Yoite, what do you want to look at?" he asked, looking up at him with his hands clasped behind his back. The other boy told him 'whatever Miharu wants to look at,' and Miharu said, "I want to look at the cats," knowing he wouldn't get a straight answer out of Yoite easily.

The two went over to the cages and Miharu bent down in front of them, beginning to pet the cats through the bars as Yoite watched. Miharu considered asking Yoite to join him, but he had his gloves on, and Miharu knew he wouldn't take them off in public. So instead he asked nonchalantly, "They're cute, aren't they?" and when Yoite told him he couldn't really see them too well, Miharu almost felt like crying.

They had come in to buy food for Yukimi's new cat, so after a few minutes of kneeling in front of the cages, Miharu went to get the cans. (His knees were starting to hurt from the linoleum anyway.) Yoite followed him to the aisles of cat food and back to the register like a puppy, where Miharu discovered Yukimi didn't give them enough money for the food. Almost immediately, Miharu's cheeks flushed and his eyes became glassy as he tearfully told the cashier, "Papa didn't give us enough money this time. He just got fired from his job, and--"

"Don't worry about it! You can have it half price!" The cashier quickly told him, handing him the bag.

"Wow, really? You're so nice!" Miharu gushed, giving the cashier the money. Yoite watched silently as the two finished the transaction and Miharu left the store with a slight smirk on his face.
