Thank you so much for this! Jack sounds so very Jack, even when he's recounting all the bizarrest parts of the Rambaldi mythos, and I love how much Jack's understanding of Rambaldi makes him sound so very much like Sloane, in all the creepiest of ways. And as for how well he gets Sloane, in lines like this:

He could afford to show such emotion for you, could he know? He had always felt that the normal rules governing friendships did not apply to him, that somehow he could be as expansive and as demanding of his love as he pleased, and that you would follow his example.
