Because omg, this is amazing. And lovely. And so very Justin. I adore this - how your Justin is still very much a little boy lost, and how Ben has been a man for a very long time. I love Ben as Justin's judge, and how Justin tries to carve Ben's face into his own, trying to make himself better, more good, more worthy. Ben's mere presence causing things to grow as Justin is cradled by the dead tree. And oh, the one thing Justin cannot do - lie to Iris. He never could.
Thank you so very much - I'm so happy to have gotten a Carnivale fic!
I was a bit concerned about this, on account of not having seen all of the second season when I started. But I thought If I could get the dark, hallucinatory feel of the show onto the page I could make the concept work.
I read your greek myth fic, it was ace. I think my favourite bit was:
"Not even he dared risk her wrath over a lost woman. He sins of his own to atone for."
The way the weight of belief warps Hell is V. Gaiman.
