Oh. Oh, this is so unbelievably gorgeous. I love your Laura - especially how she prefers the kind of withdrawl that involves snakes to the kind that involves Leoben - and I love how tightly-wound she still keeps herself around Bill. I love how she knows it's Lee in the play (and oh, the transplanted Aeschylus was lovely in and of itself).

And these lines?

Somewhere in this dream, a child's broken fingers mend and strengthen and grow, and curl around a metal arrow to bring back from Caprica.

Perfect. Absolutely gorgeously perfect. I am so in love with the way this wraps inside and around itself and Laura. I think I need to go read it again right now. Brilliant story.

Oh, thank you! I'm so glad this worked. I adore BSG-verse mysticism when other people write it, but I've never managed to finish any of my own stories that went in that direction before. But this one seemed to know where it was going, and I'm rather pleased with where it ended up :)

here via a rec! and so glad, too. vorblessing March 19 2008, 06:21:09 UTC
Creepy-lovely, and pitch-perfect. Could I trouble you for a few of the mysticism-stories you loved when others wrote them? Because that's my favorite thing in this fandom, and I want every last one I can find :)

Thanks for the compliment! My home computer (along with its bookmarks folder, bah) is dead at the moment, but I do have a few recs for you once I'm computered again - I should be up and running again by next weekend. :)

This is unbelievably wonderful. There are layers and layers, like there are secrets I can't possibly discover on a first reading. Wonderful. Thank you.

I'm glad you liked it! And thank you for the compliment. Laura Roslin's an incredibly intimidating character to write - she's so complex, and so many other people have written her so wonderfully - but I do like the way she turned out here.

I'm trying really hard not to type in all-caps. I've been wanting to see/read more of Laura interacting with a Leoben for so long.

Putting her dreams in there rounded this out so well... such a part of who she is, the mysticism mixed with the hard pragmatism.

Thanks! And yeah, I know what you mean about the Laura-Leoben stuff; I'm itching to watch more of them interacting in the next season (please please please, Ron Moore)?

Thank you! I didn't want to have the Cylon mysticism all wrapped up in a neat resolution, but I did want some sense of it meaning something in this context - I'm glad the balance worked :)
