i'm trying to get used to using my birth name again. it's been since i was seven, i think, that i've been using this legal last name, this moniker, this court and paper name, this adopted last name. and i can't wait to give it back. but i am not used to the name i had for the first six years of my life. i want to get used to it. it is my bloodline

I've been signing a new name for nearly ten years now, and the new signature still feels awkward, while the old one still flows naturally any time I (resentfully) have to use it for a legal document.

my last name is still my stepfathers right now. its ironic cause if my mom had put my real father's name on my birth certificate, she would've received money from the government after he died.

also, i decided i need to learn some french since i'm half-french & i only know like 2 words.
