Why don't I think of these during Meeting?

For someone who considers themselves Quaker, I place an obscene amount of emphasis on items and symbols.  Clothing, signs, pictures, numerology, etc.  Perhaps that is simply an effect of teh culture I live in, but how as a Quaker can I associate anything but the Divine (be that what it may) in everyhting?  How can the medallion around my neck,

I have the same problem with (or without) Meeting...if it keeps happening, keep posting your thoughts here because I like them and stuff :)
