The Phaaaaaaantom of the opera is here, inside my house

PSA: The ALW musicals streaming offer for this weekend is Phantom of the Opera, available from 6:30pm BST for 24 hours in the UK only, 48 elsewhere (rights issues, apparently...). It is here. It's the Albert Hall stage production, not the film, so hopefully the leads will be able to sing ( Read more... )

I'm not really back on LJ but something made me log in just now, and I didn't want to leave without saying that it was really nice to see your post on my feed! I love the Phantom of the Opera to bits (and beyond).

I hope this week is starting out much better! I haven't gone back in post history just yet, but can commiserate with how draining meetings can be during ordinary times. Now it's compounded.

Looks like I might need to haul myself over to dreamwidth one of these days.

Hope you are doing well!

Hello, how nice to see you (and the guinea pig icon)! I'm glad you liked the Phantom post, it is one of those things that I'm not in the fandom for, but have been a fan of for a very long time. And damn coronavirus that I was planning to go and see the tour live this summer!

Alas, I think I have continued to do a bit too much and the nice lady on the phone has told me I probably need to dial it back and talk to the GP and stop doing too much. But it is a pain in the neck. Fortunately, my boss should take it with equanimity given that (1) I am like this with any virus, and (2) I probably caught it at work so it is all their fault :-) I hope you and yours are keeping well.

It would be very nice to see you on dreamwidth or LJ in the future, if you felt inspired to pick it up again.

That's the other side of it--having restrictions heaped upon us makes one want to do more! I have heard that this virus can be absolutely wicked about making you think you're all better one day, and then the next day you're flat again. I'm terrible about that, because I hate feeling helpless with things out of my control. Knowing this logically has so far done little to help me get over that. :)

We're doing all right here, all things considered. Trying to keep doing all the proscribed things correctly. Sometimes I think it will prove impossible not to catch it at some level, or that we already had/have it. Our stay-at-home got extended through May and I hope it gets extended beyond that.

Both my mom and dad are in separate domiciles and both have rather vague ideas about COVID-19, so I have low-level worries about them. My mom is better--she will mask up, at least, but she will keep going to the stores just because they set aside blocks of time for seniors. She doesn't need anything! She's just a more social person. My dad keeps ( ... )
