The Fire Weather Watch was cancelled, that's the good news. The bad news is, we're now up to Red Flag Warning, which is basically the Hurricane Warning of fire danger.  It's bad enough out there that our cable company has been issuing EAS alerts all

Is it really that dry up there? Seems hard to believe, we almost floated away with all the rain in April...

Yeah, amazingly. See, the rain we got in April wasn't enough to make up for the lack of snowfall in the winter - I predict water rationing later this summer. We'll have to watch our well, I can't recall how deep it is.

The warning has been cancelled, but area fire departments are still not issuing burning permits around here because everything is dry tinder.
