I'd also like to add that I'm not crazy about the idea of you enlisting, Joel. With you education, you could become an Officer or a Warrant Officer. Right now, Warrant Officers that do jobs working with computers are a hot recruitment item, and I think you should definitely try for that. Just because you're DEP'd in, doesn't mean you have to go.

Honestly, if you had to join the military, either the Air Force or the Coast Guard are the way to go. They value their people more than the Army or Marines do.

yeah i got a few bonuses and they are repaying my student loans. I don't want to go officer as its a 6 year position, and I don't wanna make that commitment. I did think about that. Army was still the best benefits and all

Signing up for OCS is only a four year commitment, man. They lie to you at MEPS and the recruiting office.

Knowing the things I know now, I would have joined the Coast Guard.

It is good to know that going for an officers position is a 6 year agreement, since that is what I would probably be interested in if I ever bit that bullet.

Joel i agree with Josh. you should consider a position that will give you what youre looking for, a decent job and environment.
