Dream
Go to some of the shows, without having to pay for return flights for 2 nights
Reality
I thought this was all going to go shit shapped as getting hold of tickets, in the UK, is like tryig to get hold of Glastonbury tickets though a sharper and more painfull pain than the 5 hours on hold.
Howevber with a bit of social engineering, <3'ing teh pound's resurgens against the dollar, and some improvisation, i've managed to get hold of tickets to the Friday night and Saturday Night shows @ the House of Blues in Boston.
All that is left is transport.
Early next year there will be a 'big IT project' to integrate our offices, mos of which will need to be done from the US office. I've agreed with my Boss for them to fly me INTO Tennessee for 10 days to do most of the work, and spend the intervening weekend exploring Nashville, maybe Dallas (for those boots), and definately Lynchburg.
The idea is they then fly me OUT of Boston on sunday 15th - hungover and bruised, and I deal with an internal flight up to there on the thursdaynight / friday morning.
Ticket cost = 100 quid
Internal flight ~ 100 quid
Amount of win= FUCKING INFINITE
Fuck the credit crunch i'm going to America for a gig.
